What is the PAC “Hays Families for Safe Mobility”? The PAC “Hays Families for Safe Mobility” serves as a conduit for people/businesses/associations/civic organizations/etc to donate money that will be used to promote passage of the upcoming Nov Road Bond election. Businesses can donate to a PAC set up for an issue but not to a candidate. The treasurer for the PAC is Amy Parham. The members of the advisory committee for the PAC are being selected now.
The PAC “Hays Families for Safe Mobility” has 2 requests - Please respond with a reply 1. Can the PAC list you as a supporter for “Hays Families for Safe Mobility”? 2. Would you like to serve on the advisory committee for “Hays Families for Safe Mobility”?

What is at
stake?
§ Hays County signed the original PTFA (Pass Through Financing Agreement) with TxDOT back in August 2006 (Binding contract) § Hays County has yet to build any of the roads included in this contract § The current revised PTFA that Hays County signed in 2008 obliges Hays County to front/fund $155,800,000 with revenue bonds § TxDOT will pay back Hays County $133,200,000 in 14 to 20 years § Net cost to Hays County for 5 major road improvements to increase capacity….$22,600,000 § If the November road bond fails there will not be any funding available to pay for the PTFA commitment and TxDOT most likely will rescind the $133,000,000
The next TRAFFIC REPORT will outline the PTFA roads in detail and will attempt to decipher what additional Non-PTFA roads will be included on the Nov Road Bond Hays County Court has until August 26 Tuesday to decide which additional non-PTFA roads from each precinct will be on the bond and to decide how the road bond will be presented on the ballot
