The Buda Chamber of Commerce wins 1st place in the best website design in the entire state of Texas in its category! Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives awarded BACC at its recent conference held in Nacogdoches on June 29, 2010. ACC Announces Contract for Land in North Hays County, Bringing Total Land Acquisitions to $35 Million
AUSTIN, Texas (June 29, 2010) – The Austin Community College District announces it has entered into a contract for the purchase of approximately 96 acres in Kyle, as Hays CISD voters consider joining the ACC District. Read more here.
November 2010 election to add Hays CISD to the ACC College District
ACC Board of Trustees voted unanimously to accept the petitions to call for an election that will annex the Hays CISD into the ACC College District. By passing the 1325 threshold, the ACC Board of Trustees will call for a November 2010 election to add Hays CISD to the ACC College District. If the voters pass the proposition in November, students in the Hays CISD area will receive “in district tuition” which will reduce their cost by 70% immediately. ACC has committed to build a campus in the Buda/Kyle area. For more information view the ACC Access Yes website.

Are you interested in changing a child’s life? Have you been looking for a way to reach out to others? CASA of Central Texas is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that serves children in Hays, Comal, Guadalupe, and Caldwell counties. CASA volunteers are Court Appointed Special Advocates for children- trained community volunteers appointed by a District Judge to advocate for children who have been removed from their home because of severe neglect or abuse. Please help us in our mission to provide a volunteer for every abused child in the counties we serve. Details for our upcoming volunteer training class are:
Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age and have no felony convictions. Please contact Erin Taylor, LMSW at (512) 392-3578 for more information or to receive a volunteer application. Our office is open 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday.
